Demand on healthcare systems is on the rise, in light of demographic change, increased citizen mobility in Europe and the rising expectations of patients. As resources remain limited, now is the opportunity to develop new distance spanning services and technologies that will enhance quality and render the management and provision of our services more efficient and more accessible. ALEC 2010 offers peer to peer learning – participants will hear from other European regions why they should work with e-health, how they can develop and implement e-health policies, what challenges they can expect to face and how e-health can contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of services.
